Here's one example of the use of the Pack wrapping option.
The image on the left is shows the results of standard packing into the 0 to 1 tile. The image on the right shows these same shells, packed with the wrapping turned on and one third less wasted space.
This "trick" only works for single tile packing, and the rest of your pipeline (e.g. 3d paintbox, renderer) will also need to support the repeating/wrapping of textures. |
