These instructions are for customers with floating licenses who wish to upgrade to UVLayout v2. General information about the floating licenses server software, HLServer, can be found at http://www.headus.com/doc/HLServer.

Note: If your HLServer installation is older than around April 2007, you will need to grab and install the latest version from http://www.uvlayout.com/hlserver before proceeding any further. If you are upgrading a Windows installation, be sure to read Updating under Windows.

1) On the license server, edit your hlserver.conf file and add a "PRODUCT uvlayoutv2 ..." line; the easiest way to do this would be to copy then edit the existing "uvlayoutv1" line ...

 PRODUCT uvlayoutv1  <access list here>
 PRODUCT uvlayoutv2  <same list here>

2) Also on the server, edit your keys.txt file (or .keys file under Linux) and add your v2 license to the end of the file. For example ...

 #v2# 10 fc ad 8c dd fb fa e3 31 e6 f6 6f cd f1 7c b0 4d fe 4b 13 09 # uvlayoutv1 8bd547f5 080602 5644 [000 4]
 25FC ENLC 1T8J CANT GM65 EPPW FW2J 7YYN 03CY 4LSA # uvlayoutv2 sysid=8bd547f5 expire=080601 [000 4]

3) Run hlmanager and tell HLServer to load up the edited files with a "reload" command. You should then get a status update that shows both the old v1 licenses and the new v2 licenses ...

 Server manon up 45 days, 1 hour, 24 minutes and 17 seconds
 <--------- Licenses ---------->  <------------------------- Users ------------------------->
 Name Status Free Used Id Hostname User App Age Idle
 uvlayoutv1  234 days     4    0
 uvlayoutv2  234 days     4    0

4) At your earliest convenience, install UVLayout v2 on each of your workstations. Your UVLayout v1 licenses will remain active for a while, giving you time to upgrade all your systems. If you are managing a Windows environment, you may want to set up a UVLayout Server Installation; it allows you to host a single copy of UVLayout on a file server, making version upgrades easier.
